Welcome to the Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature website. That’s a bit of a mouthful so I call it EAIFL for short. It is a very exciting time for all of us at EAIFL and we hope to see many of you in Dubai for the very first Festival.

Dubai is a City of Dreams and this is one dream that is soon to be reality.  Dubai is not widely known for its culture but for those of us that know and love Dubai, this is far from the whole story.

The citizens of the UAE have a rich heritage of story telling and oral poetry; the Arabic language is one of the richest in the world, and by celebrating both Arabic and English literature, poetry and books we have a chance to inform the world about what is happening here.
