Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2013 Student Competitions Now Open
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature today launched the first activities of the 2013 event with a call to all school children and undergraduates to enter three literary competitions. The competitions comprise the Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition, The Taaleem Poetry Award and the Readers’ Cup. Information and entry forms for all three competitions can be found online at www.emirateslitfest.com.
“During the summer months, we encourage students to continue reading and writing and this is a great opportunity also to get a head start on developing their stories, poems and reading entries,” said Isobel Abulhoul, Festival Director. “The ever-increasing popularity of the competitions and the wealth of talent we have in our schools and universities is going to make for exciting and inspirational work.
“Of course, 2013 is the Festival’s 5th Anniversary and we are delighted to be kicking off with something for young people. It is also pleasing to welcome back our wonderful sponsors Oxford University Press and Taaleem who share our vision and values.”
All information about the competitions, including themes, prizes, rules, age categories, deadlines and submission forms is available online at http://emirateslitfest.com/writingcompetition
