Dervla Murphy has won worldwide praise for her writing and has been described as a ‘travel legend’ and ‘the first lady of Irish cycling’. The author of more than 20 travel books, she has cycled all over the world and even at the age of 80 has not relaxed her pace.
Dervla will speak at the 2012 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature on Friday 9 March at 4:30pm. Come along to hear her stories about her wide-ranging, often dangerous travels.
Patrick French will talk about his ‘biography’ of India and its 1.2 billion people, Saeed Al Badi and Muhammad Abdel Haleem will discuss Mecca: The Journey of a Lifetime, and Josceline Dimbleby will share her insights into international cuisine in Orchards in the Oasis.
