Shakir Noori is an Iraqi author and journalist currently resident in Dubai. Educated at Baghdad University, l’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Science Sociales and the Sorbonne, Shakir lived in Paris from 1977 to 2004, as a student and journalist. Since moving to Dubai, he has worked for Alrajol Alyaum magazine and Emirates Alyaum and Alalam newspapers and currently works as Editor of the Culture supplement of Al Bayan newspaper. He also edits articles for Gulf News.

His novels include Spider’s Window (2000), Death’s Caprice (2004), Deyalas (2007), Dogs of Gilgamesh (2008), Green Zone (2009) and Mads of Bucca (scheduled for publication in 2012).
