Qais Sedki is founder and managing director of Pageflip Publishing, an independent Emirati publishing house that focuses on publishing Arabic graphic novels in the Japanese manga style. The publishing house’s debut title, Gold Ring, won the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Book Award (2010) in the Children’s Literature category, making Qais the first Emirati author to win the coveted award.

Qais has a profound love of Japanese manga graphic novels and a keen interest in Japanese arts and culture. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University in Boston, USA and also holds a Masters from the American University of Sharjah. Qais worked in the field of Information Technology at Dubai Police and Emaar Properties before deciding to dedicate himself to publishing. He likes to participate in social activities such as reading and storytelling for children at schools.
